Four terraces, stacked vertically
The hotel describes itself as "four seamlessly connected stacks — Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud." That phrasing is easy to read as marketing, but it is a fairly literal description of how the building is organised. Rather than concentrating all the greenery and open space on one podium, the design threads open-air terraces up through the tower, each with its own character and its own role in the stay.
The Forest Terrace is the arrival experience: a lobby level enveloped in dense foliage and cascading water features, so the first impression is closer to walking into a garden than into a marble atrium. The Beach Terrace is the recreational heart, carrying a lagoon pool and a 22-metre lap pool set among tropical greenery, with a sunken pool bar on the same level as the water. The Garden Terrace introduces manicured lawns and planting beneath the guest floors. And the Cloud Terrace, on Level 18, is an open-air landscaped lawn with a breezy cityscape vista — an event and gathering space rather than an enclosed function room.
The hotel frames the whole as biophilic architecture: nature integrated into the structure rather than applied as a finish, and backed by BCA Green Mark Platinum and GSTC certification. Whether or not a guest cares about the sustainability credentials, the practical effect is that green, open-air space is available at multiple heights in the building, not just at ground level.
Why the vertical layout changes the stay
The reason this matters for a traveler is circulation. In a conventional Orchard Road tower, the only reason to leave your floor is to go down to the lobby, the pool, or out to the street. Here, the terraces give the building internal destinations. The pool level is a place to spend an afternoon, not just a lap-and-leave amenity. The Forest Terrace makes arrival and departure feel like passing through a garden. The Cloud Terrace opens the top of the building to the sky rather than sealing it behind glass.

Someone optimising purely for the lowest nightly rate on Orchard Road will find the architecture is the point, and priced accordingly.
But for a first Singapore stay, a design-minded return visit, or a family that wants a resort feel without leaving the city centre, the vertical terraces deliver something the street's other towers structurally cannot. You get Orchard Road at the door — the malls, the dining, the MRT, roughly 25 minutes from Changi — and a building that behaves like a garden resort once you step inside. Dining reinforces the same indoor-outdoor logic: Mosella, the Mediterranean signature restaurant, spreads across indoor and outdoor seats; the Pacific Breeze lounge is set above water within the Forest Terrace; the Park90 wine lounge holds the quieter, collector-minded end of the evening.

Orchard Road does not lack for hotels, and it does not lack for good ones. What it has largely lacked is a building that treats the vertical constraint of a city site as a design opportunity rather than a limitation. Pan Pacific Orchard's terraced stack is that attempt — Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud, each doing a different job at a different height. Book it because you want that building specifically, and the address becomes a bonus rather than the reason. Book it expecting a standard Orchard Road tower, and the very thing that makes it distinctive will read as unfamiliar. The terraces are not a garnish on the stay; they are the stay.
