Verdict

Silom's Park-View Landmark for Rail Access and Michelin Dining

Dusit Thani Bangkok earns its place through location and dining rather than novelty — a Silom address with direct rail access on both lines, park-facing rooms across the board, and a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant inside a flagship Thai hospitality brand's home property.

It connects directly to BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Silom stations, and its dining lineup includes Cannubi, a one-Michelin-star Italian restaurant from chef Umberto Bombana, alongside the Thai-focused Benjarong Bangkok and two bars, Spire Rooftop and 1970.

Best for

Travelers who want a Silom base with direct BTS/MRT access, park-facing rooms, and serious on-site dining without leaving the hotel.

Avoid if

Travelers prioritizing a riverside setting or a boutique, low-key scale over a large flagship hotel.

How we evaluate →

Who should book

In favour

  • Travelers who want walk-out rail access on both the BTS and MRT lines
  • Travelers who'd rather have a park view than a river view
  • Anyone prioritizing on-site Michelin-level dining over exploring restaurants citywide
  • Families who want kids' programming inside a business-district hotel

Worth knowing

  • A riverside setting — this is a park-and-rail address, not a Chao Phraya hotel
  • A small-scale, boutique property — this is a large flagship reopening, not an intimate stay
  • A resort-style pool day as the main draw — the pool here supports the stay rather than anchoring it

The property

The current Dusit Thani Bangkok reopened after a multi-year rebuild of the original property, which first opened in the 1970s on the same Rama IV Road site in the Silom/Bang Rak district. The rebuild kept the address and park-facing orientation but replaced the building and room product entirely. All six room categories are described as park-view accommodations overlooking Lumpini Park, Bangkok's largest central green space, rather than splitting inventory between park- and city-facing stock.

Dining and bars

  • Cannubi — Italian dining room from chef Umberto Bombana, holding one Michelin star as of the 2026 Bangkok guide.
  • Benjarong Bangkok — the hotel's Thai restaurant, built around recipes the brand traces to the 1800s–1930s.
  • Spire Rooftop Bar — elevated bar and lounge space.
  • 1970 Bar — a retro-themed bar referencing the original property's opening year, located on floor 39M.
  • Dusit Gourmet — a ground-floor gourmet market with direct mall access.

Wellness, pool, and family facilities

Devarana Wellness is the hotel's spa brand, offering what Dusit describes as time-honoured therapies across dedicated treatment suites, with a separate fitness centre and fitness studio. The property also runs a kids' club with a ball-pit play area and a Thai-writing workshop for children, positioning the hotel as workable for families despite its business-district setting.

Location

The hotel sits at 98 Rama IV Road, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500 — directly connected to BTS Sala Daeng station and MRT Silom station, putting Sukhumvit, Siam, and the river piers within a single-transfer rail trip. Lumpini Park sits immediately across the road, giving every room category its park view and giving guests a car-free green space for a morning walk or run without a taxi.
